ADAM MASOOD
As a clinical social worker, I have dedicated my career to making a positive difference in people’s lives. I believe therapy is a supportive journey through which change and healing are always possible. You will find me to be compassionate and understanding as we work to help you navigate life’s challenges.
I welcome you.
I have over eight years of experience training and working in hospitals and mental health settings in different countries.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages, youth 13+, and couples to manage life stressors and transitions and build resiliency.
I am experienced in tackling various clinical issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, PTSD, anger, interpersonal difficulties, drug and alcohol challenges, men’s issues, relationship issues and disability management.
I also have experience in counselling patients and families in coping with changes in emotions and behaviours that sometimes result from brain injury.
In my work, I draw on techniques from various evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, DBT skills training, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I tailor my approach to each client as I believe everyone is unique.
In addition to English, I speak Pashto, Urdu, Hindi and limited Persian. I’m committed to providing inclusive services for people of all backgrounds and social identities. I strive to practice in a culturally sensitive manner, welcoming clients of all genders, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, and religions. Our work together will be a supportive journey to discover and heal whatever is causing you disharmony in your life.
In addition to my Masters degree in Social Work, I have the following additional Professional training:
Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders Certification from the University of Chicago
Advancing Interprofessional Management of Substance Use Disorders from the University of Saskatchewan
Complex training in DBT for Complex Disorders
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, spending time outdoors, hanging out with my family and enjoying a good coffee.
I work with Adults, Couples and Youth 13+.
