ADAM MASOOD
As a clinical social worker, I have dedicated my career to making a positive and meaningful difference in people’s lives. I firmly believe that therapy is a supportive and collaborative journey where healing, growth, and lasting change are always possible. You will find me compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental as we work together to navigate life’s challenges and discover your unique strengths.
I warmly welcome clients from all walks of life and am deeply committed to practicing with cultural humility and sensitivity. Understanding the importance of Indigenous worldviews, healing traditions, and intergenerational impacts, I strive to create a safe and respectful space that honours your cultural identity and lived experiences.
With over nine years of clinical experience across diverse hospital and mental health settings internationally and nationally, I bring a broad clinical skillset and an open heart to my work. I enjoy supporting individuals and couples through life stressors, transitions, and resilience-building.
My clinical expertise includes a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, PTSD, anger management, interpersonal challenges, substance use, men’s issues, relationship difficulties, and disability management. I also have specialized experience counselling individuals and families coping with emotional and behavioural changes related to brain injury.
In my therapeutic practice, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills training, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Each treatment plan is tailored to fit your individual needs, honouring your unique story and strengths.
I am fluent in Pashto, Urdu, Hindi, and have conversational skills in Persian, which enables me to connect with clients from varied cultural backgrounds. I am committed to offering inclusive services that respect all genders, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, religions, and social identities.
Alongside my Master’s degree in Social Work, I have pursued additional professional training, including:
Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders Certification (University of Chicago)
Advancing Interprofessional Management of Substance Use Disorders (University of Saskatchewan)
Advanced training in DBT for Complex Disorders
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, spending time outdoors, connecting with my family, and savouring a good cup of coffee.
I work primarily with Adults, Couples, and Youth aged 13 and older, and I am honoured to walk alongside you on your path toward healing and wellbeing.
